So I bought a horse off Craigslist
Not a month ago I said "CL is the land o' crap horses", or something to that effect...now I've gone and bought one
Scout is a 7 YO TWH gelding. He's healthy, he's got good feet, and loads of training and buttons on him. He is brave on the trail or out on the road, has a powerful, ground eating running walk, and the start of a nice, balanced canter. He transitioned quietly into my herd after a week of living over the fence from them, and he's in charge but not a bully in any way. He's not a rescue, he doesn't need anything but his teeth and sheath done LOL, and all's well.

What a nice looking pair! he reminds me of a really neat horse we had in therapeutic riding at one point - same build, same kind expression. You scored!

Congratulations on the new purchase! I can't see the pics but I'll try to load them from the home computer tonight.
There are lots of great horses on CL. Just trimmed at a barn Sunday I've been doing for a couple years. She had 2 new horses, both CL freebies. Didn't pay a dime for either one. Beautiful horses, great feet, lovely temperaments, perfectly well broke, no vices. Both TWHs. Both were perfect for the trims. Both situations involved a person who had fallen on hard times and had to give the horse away ASAP. Nothing wrong at all with either horse.
There definitely are great CL horses out there.

My friend calls those horses a "Good Egg", the kind that will not be or give any trouble, goes on with whatever program you have.
Those Good Eggs are ... priceless.
