Default alfalfa cubes as treats - how much?

I feed soaked alfalfa cubes to my guys as pre-breakfast treats, and am just wondering how much is too much? I'll usually put 4-5 double handfuls (it's not an exact science!)of the cubes in a bucket, soak till mushy, & feed. Then they get their usual amount of hay/grain for the rest of the day. I don't give it every day - maybe 2-3 times a week. It seems like alot of food after the cubes are soaked, so I'm concerned about overfeeding...(they're not overweight, so I'm not worried about them getting fat.) Any thoughts?

If he's getting fat, you're feeding too many

I bet you aren't feeding more than a couple of pounds, tops. It just seems like a lot more because of the expanded, water-soaked volume.
