Default Cost of Triple Crown Senior

Can I get some prices from everyone as to the cost of TC Senior. I paid 19.45 for a 50# bag on Friday and when I asked why it had gone up almost 3.00 in two weeks, I was told because of the volatile grain market.

However the main ingredient in TC Senior is Alfalfa which has gone down and soy which our grower here tells me was 3.00 a bushel less last week.

What is everyone paying for TCS?

I pay about $18 and change. It's a buck or so less than Purina Equine Senior.

Mine is around $20 as well. I haven't seen a significant change in price, although I do need to pick up feed soon, so we'll see.

I pay 22 a bag here in NorCal. It is more than Purina Sr, but less than Ultium. And I have to drive an hour each way to get it.

I paid 18.79 on Saturday and I religiously watch the Agway circular for coupons. My one old guy thrives on it and could never bring myself to even THINK about changing him. My regular mill has 10 % that is 8.88 a bag and tehy will do special blends, add biotin, etc... however even they jumped to 10.10 last week. Corn is the problem...there are new testing that needs to be done on each load to determine if there is a certain virus in it and that has added costs ( I believe the regulation is 4 tests to a tractor trailer load and the tests are $50 each). Everywhere that buys grains needs to do this so i am sure they pass the cost along. Equine grade corn is better than cow so its more expensive as well. Same with wheat

I thought Beet Pulp was the main ingredient of TC Senior.

I pay just under $20 and it's been the same price for at least three years.

Sounds like if you were paying $3 less two weeks ago--so $16.45--you were getting one heck of a deal! Maybe the feed store wised up.

They say it is beet pulp based but the first ingredient listed is alfalfa meal.

It has no corn in it.

I pay $18.50. At my feed store all the Triple Crown feeds are the same price, so I'd imagine that if one went up because of grain prices, they'd all go up.

This is a feed store on southeast Wisconsin; I've price checked 2 other stores in northern Illinois and they are atleast $2.00 a bag more expensive, as is a feed store closer to Elgin, IL

Thanks everyone, it seems around $20 more or less is what it is. I love the feed and my horses love it, so this is where we are. . .
