Default new england--got a tiny lovebug male dog for adoption?

i think i'm ready for a tiny dog in the house.
    here are my musts...
must be male--i have a queen bee already, she will not tolerate another female in the house.
    must be non-yappy.
    must be a total lapdog.
must be ok with other dogs and cats in the house.
    must be 100% housebroken too!
older is ok, minor health maintainence issues ok.

i have a young man who lives with me who really wants his own dog, a companion of his very own to take for walks and cuddle with. my friend is a mildly intellectually disabled and functions at around five years old. he is very good with pets, and a pup of his own will help motivate him to walk every day and give him more responsibility. i believe he will be here with me for life, and most of our pets live to a ripe old age.

we have great vets and refs and a huge fenced yard.
someone is almost always home, so lots of lap time is provided.
no hurry, we're just starting to look...

Have you tried New England All Breed Rescue? They have a good selection of small dogs ready to adopt.

    Default Dog Adoption

Check out Jenny's Hope - they are "located" in Rhode Island but have fosters all over New England (I fostered a litter of puppies earlier this year - this is how I know about them). They tend to focus more on the small breeds and they often pull seniors from local pounds.
