Default Just heard the remains of Credit Card found?

A cousin in AR just posted that they have located the remains of Credit Card, the last of the 5 horses stolen from SAU still missing. Can anyone confirm this? What a horrible ending to this awful saga if it is true

    Nevermind, just confirmed it.http://www.arkansasonline.com/news/....lahoma/?sports

So sorry for everyone involved in this loss

That's just terrible. I was so hoping that they would find him alive.

I had wondered if maybe he was also tied to a tree somewhere, but wasn't found like the others. I hope that wasn't the case, though. It's just too sad for words.

My condolences to the owner. I was so happy to hear when the others were recovered alive and I was really hoping for a good outcome for this guy. Poor thing.

Now that just breaks my heart. There is no animal half as heartless as a human being. Our capacity for greatness is mirrored by our capacity for horror.

I sure hope they can catch whoever did this. My heart breaks for the horse's owner today.

My condolences to Credit Card's owner. I am so sorry Credit Card was not found alive.

I sincerely hope the local sheriff will pursue this case, and arrest someone for this horrible crime.

That is so horrible. I assume people usually steal horses so they can sell them and make some cash... Obviously that's a horrible thing to do, but this is on an entirely different level. It's downright evil. Why the hell would you steal a horse just to let him die? My heart goes out to his owner, I can't imagine how they must be feeling right now. It makes me sick to my stomach. I hope they find whoever did this and punish them to the full extent of the law. Human beings can be truly awful creatures.

Very sad. Pathetic excuses for human beings that would do such a thing.

So sad, why would someone do such a thing? I can't for the life of me wrap my brain around it. I hope they catch whoever did this!

Presumably they panicked when they realized the media attention this got?

It is truly inconceivable. The poor owners.

That's what I'd guess, or maybe a plan to sell them fell through for other reasons. I doubt they just took them for the heck of it unless it's some weird rivalry thing carried out by a crazy person or something.

Nothing I read says how the horse died, I suppose it COULD have been an accident or "natural" causes (colic, etc). But that does not mean they are not responsible. It doesn't sound like professional thieves, I'd be willing to bet that it was a competitor or someone with a grudge against someone on the team. It seems as though it was timed to disrupt the team's competition and the horses and equipment were just put somewhere.

Professional thieves (or even just smart ones) would have had those horses and equipment hauled several states away and sold at different auctions. Same with the tack. Don't know how easy it is to sell a "hot" trailer. It sounds like at least there are no shortage of suspects.

This link has video of the living horses.

Sounds to me that they were stolen and tied up somewhere close to disrupt the competition and whos to say that with the poor care CC did not pass away during the 2 wks they were missing and the body taken and dumped out of state to prevent it being found.

The video states that the found horses had lost much weight and condition. With that sort of acute neglect it is possible that it was a catalyst to CC colicing etc causing his death.

My guess is a grudge , prank gone very wrong , or school/team rival. Either way I hope they find those responsible and prosecute them to the fullest.

I know a long time ago school pranks happened and team rivalry sometimes led to the kidnapping of mascots etc but in all Ive read and heard about .. the animals were always taken care of. Its sad that people have become so selfish and self serving.

Anyone remember the Cheerleader mom who had her daughter's rival's (for the squad) mother murdered? So the girl would be to upset to worry about cheerleading. It is just amazing how people get twisted up in competitions that will mostly end up forgotten by anyone who wasn't actually involved.
