    Default Yearling Height

    Dam 15hh, sire 16.2hh.

Yearling (will be 18 months in January) is 14.3hh at the withers.

1/2TB, 1/2 WB. Would it sound reasonable to expect her to finish 15.2hh?

my guess is that it will probably end up being closer to 16hh.

I have a yearling - about the same age that is 16hh right now - we figure she will be pushing 18 hh by the time she is done - her dad is 17.3

whoa! how big was the mom? Im short, and require the short horses. Took a long time to find one that wouldnt end up being too big for me.

16hh is probably the biggest I want to go. Maybe if I start giving her coffee with her breakfast it will stunt her growth?lol

How tall was she on exactly her 12 month Birthday? I usually add 2 Hands to that height to get final height. Seems to have worked pretty accurate for mine so far.

Yep, 2h on the 12 month height is a pretty good rule. Since you're so close to 24 months, you could probably count on about 1h more to the existing height. Add maybe 1/2-1" since you're a bit shy of 24 months.

2h to 12 months, 1h to 24 months is a general starting point.

OK so since she is exactly halfway between 12 months and 24 months... I should add 1 1/2 hands (6 inches?) That would put her at 16.1hh?

Im crossing fingers she will stay under 16hh!!! She's a petite 14.3hh.
