Default Body Contouring; Laser resurfacing/Laser genesis/Photofacials?

    Anyone done Laser treatments?

I was looking pretty hard into it and decided on the lesser lasers rather than resurfacers.
The resurfacer testimonials scared me off. (Pixel type lasers)

I need to clean up some fresh scars on my face from adult acne that is no longer active and from the ringworm that my lovely lil kitty gave me a year ago.
I had a dermasweep and dermaplane last night and my technician directed me towards a peel and laser genesis.
I started RetinA 3 weeks ago and the results are amazing so I don't think I'll need much to clean up my skin a little.

Also, I really want to hit my butt up with some laser body contouring!!
I think I'm the perfect candidate and was wondering if anyone has tried this procedure...?

Did you happen to look on the Make Me Heal site? There's a thread on there by a woman who had fraxel and it allegedly ruined her skin. It was a terrible story.

Lots of advice and testimonials. Also, you might want to add a good glycolic acid to your regimen and a good reflective sunscreen. I love the Glytone products and swear by Ecological zinc sunscreen.

You can also try a series of light TCA peels rather than the laser. I can't speak about laser body contouring though.

I had the mixto laser, full face done. It wasn't that bad. It took about a week to peel. I used a plastic surgeons office in Orlando. The results are a little better than a chemical peel.

yup! that is what scared me off! I'm glad too because those resurfacing laser treatments can be quite pricey.

I was going to do a peel and then 2 sessions of Laser Genesis.

I've seen huge results with just 0.025% retinA with clendamycin over 3 weeks so I'm lucky that my skin reacts well to the easier treatments.

but I still want my butt tightened too.

The mixto, which is a fractional laser, was 750.00 for a full face. I would take the make me heal site with a grain of salt. It probably depends on who is performing the laser treatment though. If I were to do it again, I would go for the ablative CO2, more expensive, longer healing time, but much better results.

I think it also depends upon your age, skin damage relative to your age, and your goals. Tasia, what improvements did you experience relative to your goals? Was it just to brighten or did you get a tightening effect?

I agree that sites like MMH can be dubious. But doctors do vary widely in their "talents" also.

Sorry, very little improvement with fraxel lasers. I did get brightening and lost one brown spot, but really no tightening or reduction in wrinkles. I was 42 when I did the mixto. I wouldn't spend the money on it again. I will do skin resurfacing again, but will do an ablative CO2 laser.

I do have a great Dr, I just don't think the fraxel lasers are that great.
