Wow. Cancer sucks. Need some jingles please
I can't even type. I'm not on call and I've had 4 beers. I just need some jingles. Before I went off duty I did 4 euths in a row. I'm really upset. To top it all off, my friend's grand dog was diagnosed with osteosarcoma today.
Basic story: good friend from the country hang out place has a child with brain cancer (didn't know) child with brain cancer has a dog with osteosarcoma. Saw osterosarcoma dog when I was in to good friend's clinic getting rabies vacc and health cert for my dog.
Had no clue till I asked child's mom why she looked so down tonight. She says grand dog has cancer, gives distinctive name. I say I SAW that dog today, my good friend is Dr X. She says shes ok just upset because her child has cancer too and feels like they're giving up on dog b/c they can't afford to treat dog's cancer and their cancer.
You don't even know this lady is the nicest lady on the planet. She would truly give the shirt off her back for someone she doesn't know. If we could just have jingles for the dog and my friend that would be great.
So sorry for posting under the influence.
All this time in church and she has never asked for so much as a good thought let alone a prayer. She says there are more people worse off than her family that need the Lord's attention. She is honest to God salt of the Earth.
Michael: Seems the people who burned me want me for a job.
Sam: A job? Does it pay?
Michael: Nah, it's more of a "we'll kill you if you don't do it" type of thing.
Sam: Oh. I've never liked those.

So sad, it is so rough when dollar constraints prevent you from taking care of the animals the way that you wish that you could.

Sending prayers for the family. Could you maybe start a FB page for donations to treat the dog?

Jingles for your friend, the boy, his dog and your spirit. And I definitely second the donations idea.

I third the donations idea. PM me a link...
When my daughter was at death's door with a perforated colon, peritonitis and sepsis, her horse was the only thing that kept her going. She said she never had a chance to say goodbye and was going to make sure she was able to see him again.
Sounds like the dog deserves a shot and the Mom needs a helping hand.

Wow you guys are awesome. I received a few PMs regarding donations and I was rather confused.
The dog is getting top notch care by my friend pretty much gratis-they're doing some sort of barter/trade for services. They decided not to do surgery or chemo because of the location of the cancer and not wanting to put the dog through any suffering. It's not so much the cost of his care it's just the crappiness of the situation that I'm worried about.
If anyone is so inclined, my friend would be honored if you would make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
