Default Duff on Ace of Cakes - a rider?

Watching an episode right now in which he claims to have competed when he was younger, in "jumps ... and dressage ... and trotting."

    Uhm, what?

Also - "I've never ridden a Thoroughbred before. Big horse."

    :eyeroll:

Here's a clip (not my clip, just came across it on youtube in my search to show you!)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1fkF0kpbtA

His equitation needs a LOT of work

(they were making a horse cake this episode, by the way. I'm never impressed by their horse-model making)

Lmao, I actually just saw the segment this morning, quite by accident. There is no way that guy rode, you could tell just by the way he was holding the reins.

And the line about how he competed in trotting? Priceless!!

I'm not going to speak ill of a beginner rider giving it a shot (that's pretty much where I'm at), but don't claim to have competition experience when you obviously don't!

Well, given the picture they showed of him... It was probably a summer camp when he was about 6. If he didn't have much natural talent and that was all he did, technically he competed, and he would look that lousy now!

I started riding in a summer camp where we rode for several hours multiple times a day, and a lot of those kids could barely trot without help by the end of it. I was one of the only kids who didn't have an instructor leading me, and one of the only kids who got to ride a horse instead of a pony, despite being about 3' tall.
My horse is a dressage diva so I don't have to be.
