Default Finally found one....new horse! (UPDATE Lesson pics)

I made it through my horse shopping ordeal successful! Finally found something! After several disapointments, and the disaster with the mare with the bad feet, I was getting really tired of horse shopping! But I finally found one that I think will work out. A 7 year old 15.3 hand buckskin quarter horse named Crystalyn Belle. She is by Truckles Beau out of Foolers Dusky Belle. Hopefully we will be a good match. I have been real busy with work the last few days so she has had time to just settle in on her own. I am going to mess with her this weekend, brush her, lead her around, just spend some time getting to know her a little. Then I have my first lesson with my trainer on Wednesday!

My plans for her are trail riding, low level dressage, maybe some kind of ranch event, like sorting or versatility ranch. No serious competition, showing makes me too nervous to be much fun, so mainly I just want to enjoy learning how to be a better rider and have fun with my horse.

Had my first lesson on Belle today. She was a very good girl! Ignore my ugly fringy saddle pad. I need to go saddle pad shopping. Anybody have any suggestions for good western saddle pads? It has been years since I bought a western pad and there are dozens to pick from these days!

    Pretty girl.

I'm partial to the Diamond Wool contour pads for a standard western pad under a well fitting saddle. I've got a 3/4" and a 1" and like them both. They're reasonably priced (for what they are) and wear extremely well.

    Congradulations on your new girl.

I ride english so no help on where or what to get in western pads but actually I kinda like your saddle pad. Love that blue color.
