Default One driving lesson in central NC?

I found an old post with some suggestions for driving trainers in NC, but would it be unheard of for any of those people to do a single intro lesson? I would like to give driving a try, but am not really in a position right now to do anything but one lesson to see if my horse and I enjoy it. I have an older, dead quiet dressage horse who has worn harness, and been ground driven a ton, so all of the pre-cart homework I know to do at home has been done.

Anyone know prices on NC trainers? I had a hard time finding websites.

Contact me and I will put you in touch with my farrier. He is a WONDERFUL older gentleman who trains horses for driving and shows them. I am SURE he would do an "intro lesson" for you very inexpensively, will see him tomorrow and can ask him. He is in GOldsboro

You could check on some of the Saddlebred trainers in your area. Most are very knowledgable about driving and happy to give driving lessons or would know someone that can.

    Stable search here:

I believe these two are in central NC and participated in the recent Saddlebred promotion for a free ride/drive lesson?

..I'm sure there are many others listed also...

The Equestrian Life/ASHA/UPHA "Learn to Ride and Drive in Style" has been extended indefinitely. That will give a coupon for a free lesson with a saddlebred or hackney pony. Here's the link:
