I've been HPV-free for over a year and now my gyno says I have a "lovely" cervix...Gee...that's what I've always wanted. Look for a pic of my cervix on the next cover of People's Most Beautiful..
My sister works for a cancer researcher at the Medical College of Georgia. In fact, their research helped develop the HPV vaccination, and they are currently running an anal warts/anal cancer study (or rectal cancer...can't recall which exactly).

Their work is regularly published in medical journals, and she's always showing me the articles and the photos of her work with the cervix. I'll be honest...a healthy cervix IS actually quite 'lovely.' It's pink and smooth, just like a newborn baby's butt! : )

thought i'd check back in and let you know that my worries were for nothing. my little 'thing' which bled turned out to be a mucus gland, positioned just a bit closer to my bum than usual.
given the fact that my adenocarcinoma of the scalp frequently shows up again on bums, i'm glad it's not that.
i still have to be concerned with paget's disease and a reoccurance of the adenocarcinoma someday, but please dog, not on my BUTT!

I'm glad you're OK, Suz! I hope you stay that way

There was another COTHer who was diagnosed with AC after getting checked out because of this thread. If I have my dates correct, the end of the treatment cycle should be close. I hope everything's going OK.

Highflyin- you are a brave survivor!

Honestly though, your initial post was awesome, thanks for the information. Your honesty is more than anyone would care to google it, and i had no idea HPV could have anthing to do with it.

HighFlyinBey, I was so glad to read about your latest check-up! And great about the tomatoes too!

I'm the one whose life you saved. Like I said when I contacted you after first being diagnosed, thank you so much for starting this thread and being so candid about something that many find too uncomfortable to discuss. You will always be my hero and I can never thank you enough.

(I'm due for my 9-month post-treatment check on March 5 and will be glad to get it over with - the waiting sure gets to me.)

Warwick, thanks for checking in and so glad that Bey's honesty and sharing has kept you here to post. Will be thinking about you as your 9 month check up rolls around. You enjoy your spring. Both literally and figuratively.
