Default Winter Driving/Obstacle show in NC?

A friend read a post on another forum about a driving or obstacle driving show in Raleigh over the winter. Unfortunately, there were few details and she hasn't heard back from any of the posters.

I've checked the various calendars available to me, and don't see anything listed in North Carolina until late spring.

Does anyone know anything about winter driving shows in NC?

    THANKS!
    Rita

The Moore County Driving Club in Southern Pines will be hosting a series of combined tests and schooling HDTs in January through April. Dates and further information will posted on the club website shortly.

THANKS! I had checked the Moore county website earlier and nothing was on it.

It will be nice to see something going on this winter. Francey's finally responding to treatment and we hope to get out and finally do something. (I hope! I hope!)

If there are any clinics going on we'd also be interested. We certainly enjoyed the one driving clinic we participated in.

We check the calendars as often as we can ... but we still miss things

    THANKS again!

I think the first MCDC event is a Safari Drive on Nov 19th at Big Sky Farm in Southern Pines. We missed the last one but heard it was great fun. Unfortunately we've committed to go to a dog show with our daughter, SIL and two little granddaughters so it looks like we'll miss this one too

THANKS! Its not on their calendar, so I assume its a "members only" event.

Nothing is on the calendar yet as it hasn't been sent. This all just got hashed out just prior to Katydid and most all of us were there competing. All of our events are members only due to insurance requirements. I am sending the webmster the list today.

    So join the club

You won't be sorry you did.

Most driving clubs aren't very expensive to join and being a member lets you in on MUCH more of the information.

    Then... once you join... volunteer

You won't be sorry you did that either!

Absolutely!! Membership is inexpensive and we have members from all over the state, not just in Moore County. There are lots of good clinics and educational things in the works.

    I don't live in Moore County. . .

What is a Safari Drive, and is the event open to non members to come watch?

Not much to watch really, but you are welcome to come . . . It is about a 5 km drive, and competitors are given a list of stuffed animals to find along the way. They are positioned in trees, on fencelines etc. the team that gets the most sightings and has the closest to optimum time wins.

We are also having something similiar on New Year's Day - last years "paper chase" involved candy. . .
