Grace is an 8 year old 15.1 hand chestnut mare with lots of chrome. She is an unregistered and unraced thbd. She is capable of training level dressage and is jumping 2'6-2'9 in grids/gymnastics. She has not started courses yet but is capable, she does not have her lead changes. She jumps in good form and is tidy with her knees. Probably too forward to be a hunter, better suited for jumpers. She has schooled xctry and is fine with ditches, banks, etc... she has not been competed but has paced and foxhunted. She fine to trail ride alone but also good with other horses.
She has hunted second field with the Wentworth hunt for the past 2 seasons (2010,2011) and first field at the all new england joint meet at Myopia last fall. She is forward in the field but does not mind being crowded and is fine with the hounds. I have hunted her in a snaffle, but most recently started using a double jointed pelham.
She self loads on the trailer and is happy to stand there all day! Good for the vet, farrier ( 4 regular shoes and barefoot in the winter), bathing, clipping etc...
She is currently turned out 24/7 at my home with another mare and older gelding but has also boarded with limited turnout. She does prefer to be turned out.
She is forward thinking and would not suit a timid or novice rider. She is sensitive but not necessarily mareish. Her only vice is that she will grind her teeth if she is tense under saddle.
I know she may be hard to place: chestnut, mare, small, spicy but I have had a lot of fun with her in the last 2 years. I have decided that I would prefer a more substantial, less sensitive horse to hunt with. Looking to place her in a good home but would also place her with a knowledgable rider looking for a resale project .
