I just need some fellow breeders to cheer me up tonight!
I have a standardbred mare that came to me as she is a failed broodmare.. a couple of foals, and then 13 negatives over several years to be precise!
She has been spoilt rotten with me and this year we decided to give her one final try to breed the next pacing superstar!
So she has been swabbed and treated, PGd on, given settle, first cycle she has had with NO fluid in forever, ordered semen yesterday on a 35, given deslorelin...
And tonight when I went to inseminate her she has already ovulated
I am so bummed, I had such a good feeling about this cycle. So the long (but probably pointless) 14 day wait begins...
Update: 14 day scan and we have a little baby!! I am SO excited. Now to get it to stick :O
Remind me why we do this?!
