Have to say that on Thanksgiving night, after Friendly Persuasion concluded...I picked up the Director's cut Fellowship 4 disc set I got for 19.99usd some months back and had never watched. Been sitting for 6 months. Still wrapped.
Adults will understand, I had had a few glasses of wine here. I looked at the big boxed set and couldn't figure out how to get it open. Flipped it over to see the gates to Durin's realm and the mines of Moria, read the legacy to "speak friend and enter" but I couldn't get the darn thing apart even tho I spoke the Elvish word for friend...had to use a knife to split it open...but what an unexpected joy to see it open to all four discs spread out...speak friend indeed.
So I watched it in front of a roaring fire, intending to stop early but enduring to the end. have to say that of that 30 minutes of additional footage??? 27 minutes could have stayed on the floor.
But still a wonderful evening.
So now I will watch the director's cut Two Towers to prepare for the Return of the King. And I will bring tissue because I know the song is Into the West...as all the principles will go...unless they die.
Dam, I can hardly wait for the 17th.

on thanks giving I watched the full length Two Towers. There is actually a deleted horse scene, where Aragron comforts the bay horse (what is his name?). Ahh four hours, it was very good.

Yes, Brego - Eowyn states he was Theodred's horse. Pistol 'n' Me, so I'm not alone! I, too, tried to get tickets for Trilogy Tuesday...but only one theater is showing it in Indiana, and it sold out in an instant. Curses. Hopefully I'll get out to see the individual showings of the EE FOTR (next week) & TTT (the week after). http://chronicleforums.com/images/cu...milies/yes.gif

Even more than Shadowfax, what I can't wait to see is the Battle of the Pelennor Fields and the great charge of the Riders of Rohan. I get teary-eyed when I read that scene, even on the 45th re-read; I better take lots of kleenex to the theatre.
The extended version of Two Towers is SO MUCH BETTER than the theatrical version, there is no comparision!
And the "you smell of horse" was the one remotely, vaguely, marginally positive thing anyone ever said or thought about Grima Wormtoungue.

The BF and I have already set a date to go see it on the afternoon of the 17th http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif I keep seeing clips of Gandalf galloping on Shadowfax in the trailers on TV, and wishing it were out now.
Sadly, my TTT extended DVD set is a Christmas gift, so I have to wait to watch it all.
Oh, and findeight, though the song is Into the West, you might be less in need of tissues than you think http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_wink.gif
