I'm riding a horse tomorrow that is by Ferro (by Ulft) and out of a Saluut (by Ronald) mare. WB breeding is a mystery to me, but I would love to have some info about this breeding and what I might expect in terms of ability, disposition and quality. Can anyone help me?
Saluut I ( Rebell) by Ronald is a Holsteiner stallion from stamm 6085. He is the sire of Margie Goldstein Engles GP star Saluut II . Saluut I provided TWO horses for the Sydney Olympics.....one in Dressage and the other in Showjumping. Top Holsteiner stallion , widely used in Holland
This dovetails nicely with another thread that is discussing jumping blood in horses used for dressage. Clearly, both Ferro and Saluut (jumper bloodlines) pass on dual talent. An overly simplistic (but accurate) observation is that this is a clear example where jumping genes result in Olympic level dressage ability.
