    Unhappy Jingles needed...Update!

I posted earlier about my boy with bad scratches. I put him in to put standing wraps on him. While his legs were drying, he spooked badly in the stall and somehow managed to kick the bottom of the stall door off the hinges, lodging his leg in between and getting it stuck.

He wasnt weight bearing, but now is putting some weight on it. Vet is coming out right now to do radiographs and make sure its not broken.

Jingles for Charlie Brown please...he's my heart horse and I cant even think about what I would do if he broke something...

Jingles. Why do horses do these things to themselves?

The jingling seems to have worked! Vets came out, did an inital exam and concluded that they didnt think anything was broken.

Of course Charlie Brown was acting like a CRAZY horse (not really like himself!) because of all of the truck lights shining into his stall. We dont have electricity in the barn right now, so we had to get creative. We had to swap 3 horses in and out to be his neighbor and all of them were very "up" about everything for some reason.

So the diagnosis is that he badly bruised his pastern/upper hoof. He was a 4/5 at the trot, but not too bad at the walk. He will be on bute and in the stall for the next few days just to be safe.

All of this is just too convenient considering I called the vet's office today to get their opinion on what I should do about his scratches (that I had also started a thread on today). We got some stronger antibiotics for that and he will be in standing wraps while inside for the next few days.

I swear Charlie Brown was just trying to save me a little money by having them out tonight so that I didnt have to skip work AND pay the vet for an appt.
