    Default trot work suggestions

Hey all - So I've this gelding that is the strangest thing. He is pretty stiff going to the left but not the right. That's pretty normal since all horses have an 'off' side. But whats weird is almost every horse I've ridden needs work at hte canter and the trot and walk are great. But with this guy, his canter is AMAZING and so is it walk but the trot is a disaster! It's so strange! Going on his stiff side he hates being on the bit. Assuming all health is in order aside from minor stiffness, what do you suggest for getting the trot easier to ride without a constant battle with the head?

    Trot over ground poles.

I would do lots and lots of transitions. Also serpintines and spiraling in and out of a 20 meter circle.

Maybe spend a bit of time doing some ground work like long lining or longing with side reins to get him used to the idea without having to deal with a rider

Do you have the same issue when on the 'wrong' diagonal?
