Sounds like he will be a super horse to take over when (in 10 years ) Fred retires.

Thank you LH. This is a very nice colt, and the fact that his full brother is showing such promise is all to the good.
It is very much a 'wait and see' situation at this time.
Ten years, sigh - LH - I wish, I wish.

Santa clause line is from Precipitation http://www.tbheritage.com/HistoricSi...pShowroots.htm ( they tend to jump well)
And the dam side has the son-in-law line (which is nice with precipitation) my babu!
Add in the rest of the nice French blood, you should have some amazing horses.
My guess is they will see a good distance to a fence a mile away.
Great that you have a colt like this one. I hope he brings you great success.

Thank you for that frisco, I appreciate it very much.

The update is that this colt's full brother just won his division on the weekend, with a 22.9 score in dressage and double clear XC and SJ.

Such a lovely, long-lived thread. But the updates are missing a needed ingredient: pictures of these lovely colts!

    Please indulge us! And congrats!

No, viney. They are 3/4 TB, 1/4 Hanoverian.
I am trying to put the colt up on allbreed, but am not finished - for some reason allbreed does not have the TB information, so I have to keep editing.

They are by A Fine Romance, the dam (Paige/Debut) is by the Hanoverian stallion Wellington II and out of Shadow Command (TB).

The 2012 colt, barn name Pai, is still unnamed, his full brother is A Novel Romance, owned by LLG Eventing.

Once again, my pet peeve. He's just too young to be jumping XC courses.

He had a couple of baby moments in his XC, but was overall excellent.
The 2012 colt is now mine, and he is a handsome big guy.
Any thoughts of keeping the colt in tact? Fred needs a son to carry on his legacy..

A quick update, 9 months on.
This colt is developing beautifully, and is easy to handle and sweet natured.
At this point, he is still intact.
I would love to see these good TB lines preserved and carried forward, but I am not sure that I personally have the energy and ability to do it into the future.

Has anyone sold a colt with a 'stallion prospect' clause? Is that possible?
Another thought that comes to my mind is a syndication/partnership - has anyone done this, and if so, did it work?
    TIA.

wishing you were going to stand him, but hoping he can be sold to someone who will. this is a sire line that needs to carry forward.
You don't have to be good to start, but you do have to start to be good.

    Thank you very much, Dressagelvr.
    I wish I could too.
I will see if I can post some updated pictures.
