Default Yes, yet another winter blanket suggestion thread

So, I have a high withered, very large sloping shouldered TB....
I'm figuring looking at Schnieders but which one?

Euro V-free fits great on my big-shouldered beefy TB cross with moderate withers:

But the Rhino wug with the higher neck profile fits best on my high-withered TB. All the other blankets press down on his fin, including the Schneider's "fitted f-free" Regulator.

Something like this might work, but I have not tried it:

Rhino Wug all the way for this profile (yes, they are a bit more expensive, but so worth it).

Other good fits at a lower price (I have found the higher neck profile best for high whither, long shoulder) are the Eous Madrid http://www.classicsaddlery.com/blankets/blanketeous.htm

    Gladiator avalanche: http://www.classicsaddlery.com/blankets/gladiator.htm

smartpak doing their own (I haven't tried it yet) http://www.smartpakequine.com/smartp...ket-7378p.aspx

I have tried the Bit of Britain brand and they are fairly impressive for the price:

OTTBs rule, but spots are good too!

I bought the Bit of Britain unlined and liked it so much I went back for the lined version. My pony does not have especially prominent withers, but her paddock mate is a big TB mare with substantial withers and the Bit of Britain blanket fits her well.

The only problem we have withthem is that each weight comes in only one color, so you have to label your blanket well so you don't get it mixed up with others at the barn.

My old TB had the Schneider's New Briton line with the strap in the shoulders, and it fit him great. He also had high withers. The only issue I had was water getting on his shoulders, because if you end up tightening the strap, it creates a gap.

I will be getting my new TB (who has somewhat high withers) Schneider's for this winter, but the Euro-Fit with the comfort collar.
