Default Southern California/ Horses available in animal shelters

These are horses being held for adoption at local animal shelters. Just looking at some of these makes me sad. I know nothing about the animals or the adoption fees but if your in the southern California area and would like to adopt a project horse here are some that really need a life upgrade. The links will direct you to photos of the horses, location of the shelter and the animal ID# and shelter phone numbers. Please contact the shelter directly to inquire about the animals.

Some of those have just adorable faces! Hope they find themselves in good homes. Wish I could nab me a couple of the Arab mares.

I just went and looked at this one:
    http://www.petharbor.com/pet.asp?uaid=LACT5.A1252642

Sweet older girl. Probably a pasture pet. She is in a small stall with no turn out and is either stocking up or she has issues with her rear fletlocks. She will be a hard one to find a home for. Not too many are willing to shell out the $$ on senior feed for a pasture puff.

I also looked at this guy:
    http://www.petharbor.com/pet.asp?uaid=LACT5.A1244846

Older QH palamino gelding. Thin but looks like he could have been a looker at one time. Loss of muscle tone in the legs and chest, feet look good. he has a habit of rakeing hes teeth on the pipe stall for attention. Teeth don't look worn like he is a bad cribber though. He has a shark fin wither that will take some time finding a saddle to fit. Per employee horse is 20-22yrs has some arthritis in joints. Probably another pasture puff or light rider walk/trot.

I want to look at the others i listed but so far have not found the time yet. The arabs look nice.
