    Default Appropriate Attire

What's appropriate to wear while trying horses in cooler weather? Much easier to just throw on a polo in the summer!

Oxford shirt with a cardigan. Easy to pull off the sweater if you get too warm while riding.

    Showing horses to buyers?

There's a lot of options. From adding a vest to barn jackets, etc.

Trying? As in you are looking to buy? Whatever you find most comfortable as long as it has a pocket big enough for a checkbook.

honestly, I probably wouldn't think about what I was wearing when trying horses to buy, but then again I dress pretty conservatively at the barn anyway.

But in cooler weather my go-to outfit is usually some kind of long sleeved technical half zip, or full zip, breeches and paddocks/half chaps.

In cold weather, its usually always a vest and a long sleeve shirt.

What about just putting a long sleeve tee shirt under a polo...

That's my favorite cool weather riding garb period, whether I'm at a clinic, a lesson, or just riding. Comfy, classy, and easy to add/remove layers as needed.
I've heard there's more to life than an FEI tent and hotel rooms, so I'm trying it.

Long-sleeved tee shirt or turtleneck with either a fairly fitted sweater or light jacket. If it's cold, I'd add an Under-Armor top. Breeches, probably tall boots (maybe paddocks ad half chaps if it's raining). Add Under-Armor bottoms if it's really cold.

This. Nothing impresses more than cold hard cash.
