Default FEI Musings--now with link to FEI Luhmuhlen Rules 2013 Forum

    Does this seem quite right?

The European Championships this year were a CIC 3*, or so I've read. The Pan Am Games are to be 2*, but I haven't seen whether it's a CIC 2* or a CCI. Aachen's Event during its Festival of The Horse is the only CICO in the world as far as I know.

The FEI is contemplating whether or not they should continue the "new" CIC designation in the 2013 Rules Changes.

I was sort of under the impression that all FEI Eventing Championships had to be CCIs. Obviously I was wrong.

The majority of all FEI Events are CICs. If the two categories are merged, doesn't that foretell the end of the CCI as we know it?

Does anyone know what the previous Pan Ams and Euro Champs have been since the creation of the CIC? Wasn't the Aachen WEG a CCI?

It's well worth reading. CCIs look to be very safe. FEI might go having only CIC3* and let national competitions replace 1* and 2*s. Germans want to retain CICs for all levels.

    Euros are CCI3*.

Aachen is a CIC3* and used as a prelude for champ 3* or 4* so shorter distances. It is because Aachen has a festival with dressage and Sjing so a CIC fits better with scheduling over the festival and eventing was such a success at WEG so they moved to include it into the festival.
The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.
