Congratulations and welcome to the "I took a chance on a horse" clique!

I took a chance on a horse that was two states away, but like you, something about her look told me was special. She was very green, had no brakes or steering and was a challenge. However, she just ran novice at her first recognized event this summer.

Have fun with your project and keep us updated!

The picture I fell in love with:

    And this is her now:

Thumbs up it's about a relationship

at least as important as conformation and experience is the connection you feel to the horse; If you really feel drawn to this horse , go; take a look; make sure there are three gaits; sit on her, spend time with her and see how you feel about her then.

I'm going to ask if I can take her for a trial. Since the area to ride was tiny, the most I could do were a few steps of trot, turn, few steps of trot, turn, lather rinse repeat. Haven't tried canter yet. Love the pics of your horse Jenm, gorgeous. Trainer isn't excited about this horse and thinks I should go with a care lease on a packer but I'm going to try this one anyway for a week or two if seller will allow. I just have a feeling about her.

I did the same thing a year ago and don't regret it.
