    Thumbs up biggest compliment ever!

so this am i was walking my dog, a reactive 7 1/2 year old bull terrier. we just moved to a development with tons of dogs so it's been a real challenge keeping roxanne calm and polite.

we had one dog pass us 2 times during that walk and another dog passed us once. during all three times she managed to sit while i clicked/treated to reinforce. few minutes later we again came within talking distance with the owner of the dog that passed us twice. she was struggling with her dog who did not want to follow her and she said to me "YOUR DOG IS SO WELL BEHAVED"!!!!

it's been 6 1/2 years since i got my crazy bully. endless training sessions. tons of $$$ spent on trainers and classes. today was MY reward.

i get all teary eyed when i think about it. that dog put me through hell! she also taught me more than i ever wanted to or expected to learn about dogs. i realize our problems didn't go away just b/c she got it right today but boy am i proud of our accomplishments

    That is AWESOME! Congratulations!

I've had some similar moments with Koa, who was just AWFUL until she was about three. I look back now on how difficult she was and am a little awestruck with how far she's come
