    Default Boarding NW suburbs Chicago...

OK - we have moved! DH works in Schaumburg, IL and we live in Hoffman Estates, IL (north of I-90). I have gotten the kids organized in school, found the grocery store, and now I must find a barn!

Crosby is still in TN at the barn of one of my oldest friends, and there is someone riding him (who he adores) and they are doing well together. But -I want him HERE! So *I* can ride him! :-)

Any suggestions on a place 30-45 minutes from here where I can board him that has an indoor arena, turnout (group or individual), treats the horses like they are theirs, know OTTBs, has a trainer I can take lessons with if I want, and might have someone who can ride him if I am too busy? Too much to ask? Oh yes, and I would like to be able to afford it.....

Any suggestions welcome - PM me if you want...

Back to Normal.. or as close as I'll ever get

    What discipline do you ride?

You are in H/J & Dressage territory and can probably find half a dozen barns of either nearby.

laserRob's link should get you started

Tons of great options n the area!! Come out to Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, IL for A Finals next week (13-18) and talk to some people. All the farms will be there.

You can find the show information here

I'm moving my horse up from Atlanta, hopefully after the majority of the snow passes by in March or April.

I'm looking for an inexpensive place to board as I'm not needing any amenities many show places have. Anywhere that is within 1 1/2 hours from Chicago would be good.

My horse is essentially retired at the moment. He had a run-in with some lameness problems a few years back, and although he's fine now, the vet warned against heavy riding. I'm interested in keeping him sound, sane, and healthy.
