I brought one of my broodmares home this weekend - Simone (Sir Caletto - Miss Marple) who is in foal to Sir Wanabi - breaking up her herd bound self from my OTHER mare - who will come back in two weeks (TB - Flying Mountain - also in foal to Sir Wanabi).
Simone can be in work - show horse - great on trails. I decided to add a "buddy" and found a wonderful donkey who has only lived with horses to adopt. I thought I would introduce the donkey to the more dominant mare slowly then bring the lovely TB mare back.
Donk aka Applejack aka "AJ" has gotten a bit "fat" so he is in his own "slim down" paddock - but here are some pictures I have from Simone getting to the farm, then AJ getting there
There are also alpacas and sheep on the farm over which were another suprise for Simone!
Tonight was such a great night!!! I was gone for a few days and the wonderful horse sitter told me that Simone and AJ were grooming each other over the "fence" so when I got back I took down said "fence".
Here I thought the DONKEY might have an issue with the princess mare?! LOL Mai NON - MR AJ told her a thing or two and they galloped around the fields together and the world is good At least in my little plot in the world!
AJ gave a little kick buck to Simone when she got too close to him but then they galloped around the fields in donkey-horse harmony!
Where is a video camera when you need one ???
