Default A horse fell in my lap

Even though this is horse related, I'm posting it in Off Topic

I have a small farm with 8 horses. I stopped riding last year to deal with my 11 year old's health problems, and I'm middle aged and timid. My horse is retired, so I didn't have a horse here to ride. Two weeks ago, I got on one of my boarder's horses, a very safe standardbred mare.

I really enjoyed her, and I said aloud "I really think *this* is what I'm looking for -- a SAFE, people-oriented horse I can ride at home and go to local shows with, do some hunter pacing".

Twenty four hours later I get an email from an (almost) stranger asking me to take their horse! The horse is: people oriented, quiet and very talented. The horse was just vetted w/xrays and is sound. And, my trainer picked this horse out for his rider (who's now going to college), so she knew the horse well.

Four days after the email, I tried him. Two days later he was in my barn. That was a week ago. I'm still kind of reeling -- this horse is 16, a 16.2 TB/Oldenburg cross, schooled to 3rd level dressage, and does well at local shows and events. He is *exactly* what I wanted, and he just fell in my lap. How lucky am I??!

In a better economy, this horse would have sold for $15,000.

I guess there is really no point to this thread, but I wanted to tell SOMEONE, so I'm telling COTH!

Thanks, guys. I am now saying aloud "I want to win a million dollars" but so far the $$$ hasn't fallen into my lap, yet.
