Default Girl Who Saved 15 Horses in Fire But Lost Her Own is Given New Horse

Nice to see this. She deserves it.

    http://dailygleaner.canadaeast.com/c...rticle/1437311

    Excerpts:

Shanita Fox-Pelletier said she couldn't help but cry when the owner of the Royal Roads Equestrian Centre told the crowd at Sterling Creek Stables that he was giving her one of his horses to thank her for saving 15 others when his stable went up in flames last week.

After Reynolds announced he was giving her the horse, McCloskey told Fox-Pelletier that Greenhawk Harness and Equestrian in Saint John also had a gift for her.

"They offered her and her mom a shopping spree in their store to help them re-outfit the new horse," she said.

So glad that people have pulled together to do something so nice for her. Though I can't imagine the pain she's still feeling over the loss of her horse, it's nice that she will have another one there to move on with.

I wonder where she and her mother are living now ... weren't they living in the apartment above the barn? They may have lost their personal possessions too.

RainyDayRide...they were only staying there for a short time - just the weekend, as the daughter was working on completing some rider levels.

That's so wonderful of him and such a great gesture to a very deserving rider.

That was wonderful of him and all who contributed. I can't even imagine losing my horse in a fire like that.

Yeah! I was thinking someone should do this, but then I didn't know if it was a good idea considering what just happened. So glad that people pulled this off for her If anyone ever deserved such a thing... this girl sure did!
