Unhappy Heart kitty just died in my arms

A very special lil bag o' bones was Ernie. I found him almost 3 yrs. ago this Oct. And he was old then, with lots of medical problems.

He went into acute renal failure today, and passed away in my arms.

I will miss you, dear Ernster. Godspeed.

    See you at the bridge.

I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs and prayers for you and your precious Ernie.

I'm sure you gave him the very best life you could during your time together, and I have no doubt you made him happier than he would have been in any other circumstances.

I like logical people---they provide a nice contrast to the real world.

Big hugs to you. You did a wonderful thing, taking in an older kitty, I am sure he was very grateful.

I'm so sorry - 3 years isn't long, but at the same time it's an eternity with a kitty Godspeed little guy, you had a great last few years, of that I am certain

DH is digging the little grave right now-in the garden next to the bench that is surrounded by memory stones of everyone we have lost-we add another stone.

When we heal, I will go to the shelter and adopt a black old kitty--if the gods dont place one in my path first as they did with Ernie....

Your words mean a lot to me, all. I know that everyone of you knows how truly traumatic losing a beloved one is, and also why we keep on doing it, knowing that heartache is always somewhere on the horizon.

But the love overshadows the grief to us.

I am so sorry for your loss. Bless you for taking him in, medical problems and all, and for giving him the best gift anyone could wish for - love and caring for his last years.

The little old ones get me every time - I hope his passing was peaceful and that you find comfort in knowing that he's chasing butterflies now.
