wow....what a cool little horse and rider.
He just skipped over most of those fences like it was no effort at all. Scopey AND very clever....and a great job by the rider too.
THAT is a xc combo we need on a team!!!!

Aside from her riding skills and the lovely horse, Colleen is a class act as a person, the kind one would want representing the country! Our reputation is not really that stellar on a personal level and needs some serious adjusting.

Wow. Looks like the insolent creature has actually owned most of her own horses, and even TRAINED them for the most part. The gall! Doesn't she know that the grant money is earmarked for those who already have wealthy owners to import Advanced horses and foot the bills?

Wow, Colleen and Shiraz had an impressive go. Woo-hoo!!!! Go girl go.
Thirdcharm, you hit the nail on the head and made it funny.
I read some blog comments somewhere and people were saying they thought she looked "pony clubbish" wearing the helmet, that the other riders in tophats looked so much better. Huh?!?! I think the exact opposite. Event horses look so different in their bodies that a rider in a helmet looks perfect on them. Very sporty, jmho!

Kudos, for a smart ride (wearing the helmet), a beautiful ride (xc) and just a great job by a great person as well as super rider

After watching this video, I see that Burghley is hardly the biggest challenge she's faced.

Her daughters and their ponies were too cute in that news video.

About how much does it cost to send a US rider to Burghley?
(not trying to stir up trouble btw, just generally curious and pretty clueless!)

I was laughing at the news anchor (with the helmet smushing her hair-do) getting a pony ride from her daughter!

Bet the shippers don't have cheap round trip tickets for horses. From what I've read, horse shipping across the Atlantic one way these days is close to, if not at or above, 10k.

I watched her at Rolex and thought, after seeing her jump so smoothly and competently through the Head of the Lake....immediately put down my backpack and whipped out my program to find out who the horse was....thought to myself, this is quite a talented animal, and Colleen is doing a whale of a job here... I even said something after XC to someone or may have even posted here about how cool she looked at the time....so it does not surprise me that she did this well at Burghley! I hope she has a great ride tomorrow and brings home a sound and happy horse to go on.

Indeed an impressive round, made it look a bit like a pony club outing! But does anyone know why she didn't pat her horse nor get off at the end after such a brilliant effort by the horse?

I'm sure she got off eventually! :P
I was impressed by how much praise she gave the horse throughout the course. You didn't hear other riders calling "Good boy!" as frequently as she did.
