    Default Disinfectant for Pet Furniture

I bought a cat condo off of Kijiji a few days ago... it's in like-new condition as their cat simply wasn't interested in it. Comes from a flea free and smoke free home, and looks and smells (apart from smelling a bit like a garage - where is was stored) clean. However, I'd still like to disinfect it if possible, if only to ease my mind, haha.

Do any of you know of any already made disinfectants that are effective but safe for pets? Or any home remedies that seem to work? Condo is mainly carpet w/ scratching posts.

When I had a bout of ringworm in my house, I took the cat furniture outside and washed it, then sprayed it with bleach, which surprisingly didn't leave any bleach marks. Then I left it out in the sun for a few days. That procedure definitely left it free from ringworm, as I haven't had any recurrence. The two things that would worry me about the unknown past of a cat condo would be panleukopenia and ringworm, and that treatment will work against both.

Edited to add I don't use straight bleach, but either Bleach cleanup, purchased at the grocery store, or a dilute my own 1:10.

Great natural disinfectant, kills most things, the only problem is it is a little smelly.

    The cheapest natural disinfectant
