    Question Regarding Dosage Profile and Dosage Index

    All apologies if this is a Very Dumb Question. I'm totally out of my depth when looking at pedigrees. By reading the extremely helpful Racing 101 thread I've managed to mostly understand what DP, DI etc. are, but analyzing them is still far beyond me. My question is... is there a kind of "ideal" number when looking at DP, DI, CD? Is bigger better? Smaller? Closest to 1? Is it more the numbers that go into the totals that matter for example:

    DP = 2-2-11-0-1 (16) DI = 1.46 CD = 0.25

    Would one be concerned about the two zeros in the DP? What does each number represent?

    ... If you have the patience to explain this, you've reserved a primo spot in whichever afterlife you choose to believe in. Or a ton of cookies should you not believe at all.

    I think in the sticky at the top of this forum, there are posts that go into a detailed explanation of dosage. (Generally, though, most people don't worry much about it at all!)
