CANTER Cutie "Al" is home ONE YEAR UPDATE PAGE 2
I know someone else here was looking at him with over 987 hits to his listing! I picked him up yesterday at the track and he's settling in nicely. He'll need a month of stall rest, and at least another month or two of turnout--vet's orders. He has a lovely view of the farm action from his stall: donkeys, pony clubbers, chickens and the ring. His future vocation will hopefully be as a fine first flight fox hunter but his movement is really screaming dressage.
He's a very sweet, well-mannered boy. I can't say enough good things about his owners/trainers and the whole buying experience. I got to meet his regular vet, no pressure, very caring people.
Feel free to critique him as I now own him:

Video of his last turf race. He had one more race on the dirt after that which is where they think he damaged the tendon. It's really not bad at all. Al Amir:

Oh he's gorgeous! He looks very well muscled already and heavier than most OTTB that I've seen. Mmh, black too.
What a catch, enjoy him!

He's 6 so he's a lot more mature than some of the other listings, was gelded late at 3, so he has a bit of a stallion look left, and all of his barn mates were well fed and rounded! He's got a lot of substance... and size 3 feet!

Congrats!! I bought my CANTER OTTB from Marcia Wolfe as well and I agree, she's wonderful. Best of luck to you and your new addition!

Yes, he did go fast! I was very interested in Corri's Contender a few weeks back and her listing changed to sold WHILE I was looking at the photos. Good horses go FAST! So I called as soon as I could and made a next day appointment to see him. Marcia had a list of folks to call back pending my decision. Pretty horses don't sit for long.

Oh I was drooling over him!!! Congratulations! Corri's Contender was also one I was drooling over. Thank god I can only afford one horse right now or I would be in trouble. Canter has so many nice horses posted right now!

He's gorgeous! I look at him and think dressage, too - but likely able to do whatever you want.
Care to share his breeding?
My horse is a dressage diva so I don't have to be.

Oddly enough the Storm Cat is on his sire's side even though his dam sports the name.

Eventers would love the Kris S - which is also a hint he will probably be pretty suited for your fox hunting, too.
Have fun with the handsome guy!

I found some cool racing photos of him on Shutterstock and bought them. Here they are on photobucket:

I'm so giddy, I feel like I just got engaged! Is it 5 o clock yet? I need to see that face again!
