    Default Jingles needed for Catfish

Well maybe they are needed for me. My dear old treeing walker male, Catfish, had a stroke yesterday. He's 13. He has lost the use of his right hindleg and things look terrible right now. My wonderful vet has him comfortable and home. I think that it was beyond him to put Catfish to sleep last night too. I have won many titles with old 'Fishy, but even more he has been the family protector and pet for many years. I know in my heart that he is not going to get better even though the vet wanted to give him some time to recover. This is very tough on our family. Our vet wants some sort of improvement by Friday and as of now there has been none.
I'm so busy.....I don't know if I found a rope or lost my horse.

Alright put your big girl panties on and deal with it!

Megajingles to you-I know very little about strokes in dogs, in fact I was under the impression that dogs did not suffer true strokes, but I just want to say that giving Mother Nature a chance to work on him for a few days may be a good thing. I trust that your vet will keep Catfish comfortable, and it will at least give you and your family some time to process this tragedy.

That said, follow your heart-you know him best. HUGS....

Update!!! Catfish is doing better. The vet said that 'Fishy is doing it just to spite him, to make him look foolish, but he said it didn't matter because things are looking better. He is getting up on his own, he still cannot do the stairs but things are improving. His mind seems better too. He is more alert and if his leg would work he would be back into trouble. Thanks and keep jingling

All of the Sugarbrook ponies are jingling like mad for Catfish. We have a 12 yr old 120 lb named jackson who has been our guard dog and fantastic family dog all these years. He is getting old and we are not doing well dealing with his old age.

Prayers for Catfish that whatever happens is meant to be and happens gracefully and comfortably for him. Its just horrible when they die before we do.

Happy to hear he's doing better. I normally just cruise the forums, but I saw your Coonie's name was Catfish. I have a Bluetick who's middle name is Catfish (Otis Catfish). They are great dogs!
