Default Alan Roy - trainer/farrier in Western MA

Has anyone had any dealings with Alan? I am planning on having him work with my horse, who is extremely fearful of shoeing/loading/clipping (and afraid of most men). Alan has studied with John Lyons and really, really seems to be quite wonderful. Just thought I'd ask around.

Sorry, don't know anything about him, I'm in SE CT.

If you have not done so yet, you can also ask this question on equinesite.com, the New England based internet horse board-they have a BB over there. Be sure to ask your question both in General, and MA Discussions.

Great idea to ask around and get references BEFORE having an "unknown" to you trainer come by!

    Good luck!

I agree Claudia. When I was up in Feeding Hills for 4 years, where this guy Alan is from, I had never heard of him before you telling me about him. Definitely get some references and such before sending Mondy there. You don't want to send him out to someone who may make him worse, rather than better. )

I have a good friend in MA who sent a problem horse to a "cowboy" trainer, and had a good experience, I'll see if it was him or not.
