And I am in LOOOVE!! I just got back from getting her settled, and I think she is AWESOME!! She stepped off the trailer, and my 9 year old and I led her to her new pasture, and showed her her water. She never ran, never snorted....heck, she never even let out so much as a whinny!! She just started grazing like she's lived here all her life - what a mellow girl! She even dropped her head down for my son to pet on her. She didn't even care that she was by herself! (Simba comes on Monday) I can't wait to see her in the light - I am just smitten with her already!!!
I am such a lucky girl!! Not only am I blessed with a super cool little filly, but in the process I have gotten to know three amazing COTHers!!!
I took my camera, but it was dark, so pictures will have to come tomorrow - besides, Miss Thang needs a bath, lol. (And no, I still haven't decided on a name, so for now it's still Kimber.)

I was kinda thinking on having her show name being "My Sweet One" - it's a Phish song, but that still leaves her barn name undecided. At some point I would like to try and get her registered somewhere, but not sure where?
Chocomare is coming this afternoon to trim her feet, and I am hoping to give her a bath. Hopefully I will have plenty of good pictures to post tonight. I still haven't seen her in the daylight yet! I am hoping that when I do, a name will come to me then. I kind of like the name "Jolie" (French for pretty) but I think that's a pretty common name now?
As a side note, her owner named her dam "Champagne Supernova. She rescued her from a pretty bad situation, and came to find out that not only was she pregnant, but that she was a gem of a pony. She ended up dying when Kimber was just 7 months old. When you look up the word Supernova, it says " A rare celestial phenomenon involving the explosion of most of the material in a star, resulting in an extremely bright, short-lived object that emits vast amounts of energy" Pretty good name, huh?
So, I am pretty much blown away at the wonderful little POA Buckskin I now own. You kmow, when I started to "sort of" look around for a buddy for my Mini, I would have taken anything - mule, mini, goat...whatever. While I found a few others that were needing homes, none really felt right. In the back of my mind, I had this perfect horse standard that I compared everything to. Know what that was?.....
My favorite color - Chestnut with blond mane, or...yup, a Buckskin..
Favorite breed - Appaloosas and TB's
Gender - I love mares
Temperament - a love bug
Upkeep - I really needed something low maintenance with good feet
age - I wanted a youngster that I could break myself
Height - large pony/small horse that I could ride, as well as my kids, one day.
SO, you can imagine how freaked out I was when I just happened to get on COTH, and just happened to glance at the Giveaway Forum and saw an ad for ALL of the above, and IN MY OWN STATE. Yeah, kinda freaky. So, while I had told my husband that I could always get an investment horse to resell one day, guess what?.....this filly isn't for sale. Ever.
Today, she got her feet trimmed by Chocomare - who did a great job! - and then got a good bath and fly sprayed. She was SO good, and really acts liek she's 10, instead of only 2. Her owner has done a GREAT job with her!
