Sweet young male hound-type dog - Monterey, TN - :-( taken to shelter.
A week ago, my mom, who lives in Monterey, TN, found a starving and apparently abandoned young hound-type dog on their road (gravel, rural). He is un-neutered, probably just under a year old, sort of a reddish brindle colored, seemingly healthy, but very thin. (see photos). 'Jake' has been living on my parents' porch since then, but they must find him a home in a few weeks, as their house is on the market and they have a long trip scheduled soon. The shelters and rescue type places in the area are full up, to the extent that there are any.
Jake is friendly and sweet. He has not had any vet care, but my mom has given him a flea bath and removed many ticks. He loves attention, and since he's had some food, has been very playful and loves to accompany her to the mailbox each day. I think he could be a nice farm dog, since he is so docile and friendly.
Unfortunately, Jake ran out of time, and started acting aggressive, so my parents had animal control come get him, I am sorry to report.

I tolerate all kinds of animal idiosyncrasies.
I've found that I don't tolerate people idiosyncrasies as well. - Casey09
