    Default TB pedigrees in eventing?

I am a newcomer to eventing. I don't ride but a couple of our ex-racehorses are now doing it. I'm wondering how important pedigree is to eventers. Example - this horse *not mine, I just loved him on the track -http://www.dreamhorse.com/show_horse.php?form_horse_id=1707882 - is a half-brother to Coal Creek (who I understand is a top eventer.) Do siblings/half siblings in eventing count for anything? Little? Nothing? Just curious.

    Thanks for pardoning my ignorance.

If you're on Facebook - go to the Tamarack Hill (Denny Emerson) page - he posts a ton of information regarding eventing breeding, particularly TB bloodlines. I was thrilled to find out how many top stallions my mare has in her pedigree. Really quite fascinating.
