Default *Pics added* Calling all welsh people:) Who would you breed this Farnley pony to?

Bubbles is a section A by Farnley Magic Flute out of Northwind Caprice. I would like to add some height and length of neck. She has an adorable head a kid friendly attitude and very square jump. How do you feel about crossing and A and a B? She is 11.1. Can't post a pic but she is roan with chrome and oh so cute

A good choice would be Tustin's Bandoleer, who stands at Champlain Farm in VT.

    check out this website

Jeff's stallion is a half sibling to your mare (dam's side). He is VERY nice, I have seen him a few times in person and love him to bits. It is interesting to see what Jeff has crossed him with. All his babies have beautiful heads and lovely personalities (the ones I have met at least). Boy Blue is at Prue's farm Northwind Farm here in Ontario.

I'm not a fan of crossing A x B...but if it were me, I'd either cross her with a larger B or I would do a crossbred....if you're goal is to produce a hunter pony.

Section A's can be extremely tough to market as hunter ponies, as the truly typey ones have too much knee action, etc. for the hunter ring. Plus, smalls can be extremely tough to market, as most people want them at the point that they are broke and going already.

So, if she were mine and I was breeding for a hunter pony, I'd try and breed up in height and at least get a medium. I would be on the hunt for a nice, larger crossbred stallion. Love, love Farnley Triton, but he is 13.1 HH:

Gayfields Call The Cops would be another one to add size, and he's in the Top 20 USEF Leading Pony Hunter Sires each year. We have a 3 year old filly by him, and I cannot say enough great things about her!

Fun to see pics of your pony, I had her mom for a while. While she was with us she had a gorgeous foal by Brookside Starry Knight. She was a tiny mare too, which is ultimately why I sold them, her bloodlines just seemed too nice to not breed straight As. I know that Caprice was also bred to Farnley Belshazzar but I dont know how that turned out.

    Email sent. Thanks!

Yellowpony, Caprice and her four (?) year old filly by Farnley Belshazzar are still at the farm where I bought this pony. The filly was nice, small with blue eyes. Caprice was adorable. All of the ponies were out on pasture/pets. I was excited to find that my mare was pretty broke considering she had been sitting for a few years. I bought her with intentions of breeding her but she is working out as a school pony also
