Default Eventing instructors near Portland, OR?

I started a new job recently and I'm hoping that in the next couple of months I'll be able to take lessons again. I haven't ridden in several years, and when I did it was all on the flat. I haven't jumped since I was about 13.

But I really, really want to event. Does anyone know of some good eventing/jumpers trainers near Portland? I live 5 minutes from downtown Portland. I'm horseless, so they would need to have their own lesson horses, and hopefully have some available for half leasing down the road.

Also, what do lessons generally go for these days? I've been out of it for so long that I have no idea.

There are a number of trainers/instructors in the Portland area.

You may not hear from them this week as everyone is headed to MT for the Event At Rebecca Farm.

    Yay!

Look up the USEA icp approved trainers list, and you will find a level 4 one south of Portland, Julie Hook, she is a wonderful horse woman. You cannot go wrong with her.

Lyn Simard in Sherwood is great and usually has a few lesson horses. She also has Yves Sauvignon (sp?) out a few times per year for clinics.

Joanne Emerson at Skyline Equestrian! She's right in North Portland. Also, Margaret Gill at Highland Stables. She's a little more out of the way, (Beavercreek) but well worth it!

Thanks for the great suggestions everyone! I'm really interested in Julie Hook's program, but don't want to call until I can actually start lessons .

Anyone know a bit about her program? Prices? Feel free to PM.
