My mum is also my 'groom' (one days so it basically horse holder during course walks). She does a ribbon squee. Its awkward, but I love my mummy and she loves coming out. She's super into horses so I count my lucky stars.
I don't ever EVER want to know what I *look* like, but this is what I *sound* like when one of our horses (AKA my kids) race. I progress from whispers to screaming, sitting to jumping up & downs, and talking to both the horse, the jockey, and my family sitting with me. I used to hit people, I have toned it down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSgEr4UN6Nc
This sure brings a lot of Texas folk out of the woodwork.
But I have to agree that John is one of the friendliest, most cheerful pros around and his kids and adult clients alike are lovely, friendly, riders and excellent sports. John as well as his clients and kids always have a smile and a well wish for other competitors. I only wish my family LIKED my sport a 100th as much!
Love it !! Wish he were my Dad. Having had a never came to a show without a fight "Your going to fall of and die " kinda dad. I'd have given just about anything for that sort of enthusiasm and support!
