Default Looking for the sire of Irish Sport Horse Gelding from VA

We aquired "Tony" a 5 yo. Irish SH from Danielle Mindock of First Flight Feed Co. this past spring, and are trying to find out his dam & sire for registration. We were told his sire was an imported show jumper, his dam a TB. He is quite a horse and a phenominal jumper in the arena and even better in XC. He is 16.1, sorrel with a diamond on his forehead. If anyone had any information please contact me, and I can send pics. Thanks so much!

I'm sorry, was this horse brought over from Ireland. I mean my mare is 5 by an imported warmblood stallion for jumping out of a TB mare. If he is from Ireland he should no doubt have a chip as a 5yo. Meaning it was mandatory back then and it wasn't as if people were trying not to chip.

You've not been able to obtain that information from the previous owner? Was this horse born in the US or Ireland? The previous owner did not turn over his passport to you?

One would suppose that he's an American bred. You should try the Irish Draught Society of North America--and also Acorn Hill, who never did go the registry route with their stallions.

Acorn Hill....the location fits, First Flight Feed is in Culpeper.

I wish they would have their stallions registered with the IDHSNA (and update their website)

Tony came to Danielle by way of NORTH CLIFF FARMS in Brandy Station, va.

He had been standing in the field, doing nothing. Danielle did not receive any information with this horse.

North Cliff Farms does race horses.

Wonder if he could be a Pallas Digion? Right color; right age; right facts. I'd definitely check with Acorn Hill.

That was my guess, nice to have a horse sired by one who also sired an Olympic horse

The "real" name of today's version of North Cliff Farm is Lady Olivia at North Cliff.

If he came out of one of their pastures, I'd certainly think it would be worth a shot to call them.

    Default Thanks so much!

Thank you for all of your replies, I will call North Cliff and find out what I can, it would be a shame not to find out his info as he will be doing bigger shows next season.
