Default Does a Wintec AP 2000 Pro give you chair seat?

Does a Wintec AP 2000 Pro give you chair seat?

    - which I'd hate -

I've got a bit of a longer leg, if that matters. Not crazy long but a bit more than most people.

I'm looking at purchasing one. The new brown ones are so pretty & with the recessed stirrup bars & all. I usually ride in a close contact h/j - Harry Dabbs amateur/owner (which I love). Tx.

Oh, how is the sizing on them? Do they run big, small?

I'd go sit and one and see how it feels. If it promotes a balanced seat then you're OK. If not, then not.

This may mean some travel and may mean that buying "off the Web" will be a gamble.

They run a little big, too - so if you normally take a 17.5, order a 17. I just bought one and I really like it. I think they run a little on the narrow side too . My mare is a regular tree with my crosby, but the regular tree in the wintec is a bit too narrow. Easily fixed, though, with the gullet system.

I have really looooooooong legs as well and have a problem finding saddles to fit me correctly. This one doesn't fit me as well as the Crosby , but it's close enough.

So, yes, go to a tack shop and site in one to see.

You really have to try for yourself. I'm short, and this saddle fits me perfectly. My trainer thinks it's okay for her, but she much prefers her custom saddle (duh). I must've tried 20 saddles before I tried the Wintec, and believe me - I really didn't WANT a synthetic saddle, but it's served me well for the past 10 years. Mine is one of the pre-CAIR ones.

Thanks all. None of the local tack shops carry it, so I'd have to do mail order. (Ordering from the local stores is usually more expensive than doing an internet search for a good price.) So as a preliminary to "go sit in one or go try it" - I put up this post. Of course, the answer will be when I do send for one and try it.

Thanks for the valuable input on sizing and such ! That did help.

I wouldn't do CAIR as I've heard not good things.

Can you even get new ones without CAIR?

Also, from the Wintec site, under the new AP Pro, they list CAIR as an option:
