    Default Clipmaster repairs

My wonderful single speed clipmasters overheated today - I think the fan has gone out. Anyone with any suggestions for a quick turnaround repair company near VA - the horse is 1/2 clipped and needs to get finished asap!

I sent my big osters back to Oster last year when the cord started having problems.

I found this link that might help you find someone near you.

I am assuming Clipmasters are made by oster?

    Thanks for the link!

I finally reached the local gentleman who does the cleaning and blade sharpening for me and he is going to look at it - says he has some parts so I may not need to send them away after all.

Hope this works - 1/2 clipped horse looks a bit strange!

Frequently, overheating is just due to accumulated hair & crap. First step is to take case off & do spring cleaning! Then when reassembled be sure to lube the blades.

The first time they started to get warm I took them completely apart - there was some hair in there so I gave it a good cleaning, let it cool down and put it back together.

Second time they didn't just get warm, they got HOT very quickly - like too hot to hold hot. Noticed that the intake screen was clean, which it shouldn't - usually have to clean it frequently during a clipping.

We clipped a horse last fall and left the clippers next to the trunk at the barn where we were boarding. Someone helped themselves because when I went to use them last winter they were put together wrong so suspect something happened to them then.
