    Default Stallion Bonanza--France

Just found the French Haras Nationaux website. Every stallion that is approved to breed in France this year is in one of their catalogs, from ponys to trotters to AA to Sport Horses.

I am extremely impressed with the quality and quantity of material that the horse governing bodies in France have seen fit to publish on the web. French Galop is by far the best of the big racing/TB websites; and this:

is wonderful. But it isn't free as I had thought it was. Or it is free. I'm downloading the first volume of Sport stallions now, and they haven't offered to charge anything. They also have a horse and foal search here:

Check out this guy, Network, German bred TB.
This is what they say about him... a été labellisé Dressage lors de la Grande Semaine de Saumur. Il a beaucoup plu au jury de cette sélection « label dressage » avec les mentions « élégant sous la selle avec un pas ample et dynamique, un trot expressif, et un galop souple et ample ».
This afternoon, a 6yo son of his, Rubi Ball, just finished second in the Grand Steeplechase de Paris and picked up a $275k check, bringing his career earnings to right around the $2m mark.

From Dressage to jump racing.... that's my kind of stallion.

And his sire, Monsun, is often described as being the successor to Sadler's Wells as the best stallion in Europe.

It seems to me that the dressagey lines come may well come from the linebreeding to Neckar and Ticino, along with Aureole; and the chasing comes from the linebreeding to Reliance, along with Persian Gulf. The Relic/Tantieme lines show up in the best chasers in the UK quite regularly.

He isn't licensed SF yet. If I were wanting to breed event horses. . .

Catalogs are free but they only list stallions owned or marketed by the National Stud.
I have a membership and will be pleased to help if someone need info's on a horse born or competed in France.
