I have a GPS but it is a bit older and complicated. All I really need for my work is to get coordinates for a certain point where I am standing. I then write them down. I borrowed my husband's Iphone the other day and that was perfect.
Are there any devices that would do the same thing?
A friend told me I was delusional. I almost fell off my unicorn.
I LOVE my Magellan. It's simple, easy to use, doesn't take me weird routes through the middle of nowhere.
Stay away from Garmins... I've used them a few times now when driving places with friends and I've had nothing but problems. They take you the worst routes (we even tried changing the route option and it still took us some crazy way through alot of backroads when I could have stayed on the interstate and gotten there just as fast). In my experience, every single Garmin I've used has for some reason taken us on backroads instead of an easier route. I've found them complicated and time consuming to use.... and everytime I've used one I've always wished for my Magellan.
***ETA*** Didn't read your entire post, my bad. The GPS I mentioned above probably won't be good for what you want it for.... I just assumed you wanted one for driving directions. For what you want, I"m betting some kind of smart phone would be best. My droid has an app that lets me see coordinates.
