PW, my black dress boots (save the two custom pair I inherited from friends) are Marlborough off the shelf, circa 1986. I went googling them some months ago but I guess they no longer exist?

I believe you're right and Marlborough is no more. But their boots do appear from time to time on eBay. I found a lovely used pair, but they were too narrow for me. But I greatly admired the quality so I'm very envious of PW's brown Marlboroughs.

The Marlborough's are a little short for modern day fashion but they work just fine.

I've got a pair just about identical to these. They were made in 2005 and I wear them regularly. They are comfortable, durable, and extremely well made.

I looked to get a second pair last year. From the Dehner site the three buckle boots start at $895 and go to $1110 (plus any "add ons"). I don't have a second pair.

An alternative can be found at What Price Glory. They've got a boot made in Mexico; I've personally handled some examples. They were very good for the price. From Dehner? As wide as the foot it (in my case, very wide indeed!!! ).

I've worn them with hunt regalia in our local hunt and have not been challenged by the "dress code police." But, then, our hunt is not particularly "anal" about such things.

By the way, the leather gloves offered here are an excellent buy. They are comfortable, durable (my first pair lasted just over five years of regular and frequent wear), and reasonably priced.

Quality is seldom an issue with WPG goods. They are almost always truly first rate.

That's it. He has both wool and khaki cotton twill breeches.

I happened to stumble on a pair of Italian cavalry wool breeches on the odds and ends rack at the barn where I ride. I have to get them tailored since the waist is a tad large, but I think they'll be the ticket for fall and winter rides.
