Default I got my dream horse!

After struggling for 4 years with my OTTB my instructor and I decided we just didn't click as a team. I was so sad about this as he is a very nice horse but just not for me. So I decided to sell him. I couldn't afford another horse until he was sold and I was torturing myself going through sale adds for event horses. Well, I happened across an add for a free 16 year old german Thoroughbred who had been ridden up to intermediate. I thought too good to be true but went with my instructor to look at him anyways, it turned out he was perfect for me, we clicked the moment I got on his back. They wanted someone who wouldn't over jump him or go too high as he is older and has a few minor issues with his hocks. I don't want to do more than beginner novice and a few dressage shows. I compete maybe three times a year. He is a big 17.3 hand sweety that my 12 year old daughter can ride too! Best part is they would like him back to retire when it's time because they love him. So it's a free lease type of deal with a contract that they have first option to get him back when I am ready to move on or he retires. I am so happy!
I have a perfect body, it's in the trunk and it's starting to smell!

Hi name is Express Edition, or Shorty. LOL I've never ridden a horse so tall, took me a few rides to get in sync with his trot! He knows so much more than I do that he will have to train me!

I am SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! It's wonderful when horses and humans "work out" together. Good for both of you!

Congrats. Those older schoolmasters are such gems. Worth their weight in gold.

He is lovely and bouncy! And such a cuddle bug! He also talks to me a lot if you know what I mean, lots of nickering and happy faces. He loves to get out and work but I've only been able to ride him about 5 times since bringing him home because of the weather here ( needed a rowboat today and had to dodge a few tornadoes), but we have plenty of time.

Yeah! Our event camp is going forward! We didn't know if we would have it because of the evh1 outbreak but the owners of the facility are going ahead with some preventive measures in place. It won't be a really big group but it will be lots of fun and a chance to see what my boy can do.
